Dave Nackoney Biography
We are thrilled to announce that Dave Nackoney is joining the Lake City coaching staff. Dave will be the head coach of the Lake City U17 Boys’ team this Spring. Currently, Dave is a teacher-counselor at Penticton Secondary School, who works with the Okanagan Hockey Academy and swim academy student-athletes. Dave’s passion has always been basketball.
As player, Dave led his high school team to a provincial championship, capturing the MVP of the Manitoba provincial championships. He was one of five players in the history of Manitoba high school basketball to be chosen to the All-Time Provincial Team. Dave went on to an incredible career at the University of Brandon, winning two National Championships. Dave was identified as a GPAC All-Star for three years during a five-year career.

As a coach, Dave has had a long and distinguished career, coaching in both Manitoba and British Columbia. He is the last coach to guide Pen High to the Senior Boys’ Provincial Championship tournament (2002). Dave was selected the Coach of the Year by the British Columbia High School Basketball Association in 2001-2. Dave also developed the Penticton Minor Basketball Association.
