DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS?
(we have answers, well most of the time)
Q: I am pretty new to basketball. Which program is best for me?
A: Our youth leagues provide the best of both worlds: 45 minutes of skill development and an opportunity to play a game every week.
Q: I have been part of Lake City’s Youth Leagues before and really love basketball. Is the Academy a good fit for me?
A: Yes! If you enjoy the game and want to improve your skills and understanding of the game, our Academies will provide 14 90-minute skill development sessions with Spencer McKay, one of Canada’s most respected skill development coaches.
Q: Is it possible to participate in both the Academy program and the Youth League?
A: Absolutely! For those who love basketball, our Academy and Youth Leagues perfectly complement each other: multiple skill sessions per week and an opportunity to play a competitive game every Sunday.
Q: My child is in grade 7 should I register them in the Pro or All Star League?
A: It really depends on the players' skill level and confidence. The sections were set up to provide an opportunity for our club players to play up in a higher division. That said, the opportunity is there for those who did not play club basketball. If your child chooses to play in a higher division, he or she will be one of the youngest with bigger, stronger and more athletic players. Most players will have more success when they're at the top of an age group, which will allow them to build more confidence.
Q: My child is in grade 9 should I register them in the All Star League or G League?
